Meet edgy young photographer Ira Chernova
There are not many female photographers out there who also do modelling and have lot of beautiful tattoos on their body. Well, Amsterdam has one and her name is Ira Chernova, a 23 year old engineering student from Russia. I was really interested in her background and amazing her pictures and decided to set up a meeting to ask her about it. Interesting fact? She wanted to do it at an Irish bar, as she loves Irish people because of their similarities with Russians. (..more)

Amsterdam International Fashion Week Day 2 – The Green Fashion Competition
Yesterday was my first day at the Amsterdam International Fashion Week A/W 2011 edition and I just couldn't wait to see some of the designers and models in action. My first show for today was The Green Fashion Competition. The eight finalists got a chance to showcase their collection and two winners were awarded at the end. The jury chose the winners based on their business plans and designs, in which they both underlined their ability to sustain our world's biodiversity while still producing catwalk-worthy collections. NON BY KIM F/W 2011 presentation at SALON/
NON BY KIM, in collaboration with SALON/ and Museum Willet-Holthuysen, gave us an opportunity of having the unique experience of seeing her full collection in an entirely different concept. They did a presentation of their collection in a museum, yes a museum, instead of doing it on a catwalk. Entering the museum was quite an experience. I had never been there before and I was amazed by its beautiful interiors. The presentation itself was shown in several different rooms, corridors and floors. (..more)

Ok guys, Amsterdam International Fashion Week A/W 2011 is right around the corner and there are always parties for you to celebrate and relax during this week. They provide a much needed time to just enjoy yourself a bit between the hectic fashion shows and a time to meet those awesome Amsterdam fashion people while enjoying lovely music and tasty cocktails. Behind the Scenes of the Filling Pieces spring/summer 2011 collection

Henrik Vibskov’s travelling pop-up store visits Amsterdam
Henrik Vibskov, a Danish fashion designer and passionate musician recently launched a "travelling" concept store, and guess what, Amsterdam is its first destination. Last Thursday, Henrik launched his pop-up concept in one of my favourite stores in Amsterdam, SPR-SPECIALS/SPR-SPACE. The pop-up store itself will move around the world, staying for 100 days per city, while reflecting on the current show and the theme of the collection. (..more)
Just visiting: DJ duo Designer Drugs
If you are a fan of hard banging electro stuff like I am, you would probably know Designer Drugs by now. Designer Drugs consists of Michael Vincent Patrick and Theodore Paul Nelson. This New York based DJ duo has produced crazy remixes for the likes of Little Boots, Mariah Carey, Thieves Like Us and many others. Recently, Designer Drugs went on a European tour which began in Paris and ends in Lisbon, promoting their new release Through The Prism under the label Ultra Records. Luckily enough, I got a chance to have a quick interview with Michael just before their gig in Paradiso. (..more)
