Sage and Ivy and the mysterious muze of the light
There we were, out of the setting we are used to. Designer Alexa van Engelen of the label Sage and Ivy choose an antique mirror studio for her collection presentation. She chooses her locations carefully and always goes for the most special ones. The studio was located in an old building in Amsterdam. Many old mirrors adorned the old walls. It looked very Parisian. Marlene Dietrich is back! The wave shapes –but far more modern- the high thin eyebrows, and warm orange tones; something very recognisable. The look had to be mentioned, it was wonderful. But lovely Marlene Dietrich was not the inspiration for the Bravoure collection, the 20’s were. (..more)

Twenties glam and bitterballen at the ELLE Style Awards
Thursday evening was a magical evening; it was the evening of the ELLE Style Awards. The 'Roaring Twenties' themed evening promised to be a chic night that would take us back to the mysterious 1920s. And très chic it was! Held in the beautiful Scheepvaartmuseum it literally breathed roaring twenties. Under a starry sky with mysterious lights, flapper girls served the drinks, subtle sounds of the twenties played in the background, and the guests looked like they flew in from the mysterious time age. Go treasure hunting at the IJ-Hallen
The IJ-hallen (IJ-halls) is one of my favourite places for finding vintage treasures. I know, when you first see the IJ-Hallen it isn’t love at first sight.
