Nature and technology combined in stunning design at Transnatural
You might remember Transnatural from two great exhibitions at Trouw, where crowds of geeks, hipsters and high brow combined were confronted with stunning design and experiments in which nature and technology melt together. They recently launched a new label with the same philosophy, so I took a tour through their new gallery space. (..more)

15 new talents in a satellite location for FOAM
Foam has chosen 15 new talents to be shown at their new location on Vijzelstraat 78, just around the corner of their main base on Keizersgracht. Foam has quite a big new space to fill, which they do in a diverse and interesting way. Below are the two artist I liked the most. (..more)
Museum Night is getting closer, what not to miss?
On the 5th of November 45 museums in Amsterdam open their doors to the public from 19:00 until 02:00, with a special curated programme for the night. But what must one definitely see with this many museums to go to? I narrowed it down for you into several themes: Audio-Visual, Art, Music and, watch out… Thinking. (..more)
Photography documenting poetic interventions at Huis Marseille
Scarlett Hooft Graafland is an artist who goes to the outback and often desolated areas where nature's beauty is a relevant feature. She underlines this beauty with her own interventions. She uses her photography to document these installations which I like to call: 'poetic interventions'. More often than not, the materials used in the intervention have a strong connection with the location or play on events going on in that location. The photographs aren't just interesting but also layered and sophisticated. (..more)
Platform 2 offers new ways of exhibiting and curating at NIMK
Nimk is possibly stepping into a new era of exhibiting art. While you see new stuff happening in the Stedelijk, where (arty) computer games are exhibited next to top pieces from famous artists, another museum with stature creates a breeding ground and a platform to expose new work. In a less curated way than they are used to. Platform 2 is dynamic, ephemeral active and on top of that it’s on the Keizersgracht. The beginning of a fresh new vibe if you ask me. (..more)

NIMK presents The Art of Hacking and Prologue
'The Art of Hacking' exhibition at the Dutch institute for media arts (NIMk, formerly Montevideo) is not about the kind of hacking you hear about in the news. It does not refer to the screw-ups of Diginotar, or to Anonymous using hacking as a new political weapon. It is more focused on hacking in a broader sense, changing your society, getting past the official systems and editing them. Kind of like most of us in Amsterdam tend to do anyway; bending and changing the rules. (..more)

Bring your own beamer event finally comes back to Amsterdam
Finally Amsterdam will be blessed with another Bring Your Own Beamer event, on the 10th of September. Never heard of BYOB? It’s a one night event where as many people as possible bring their own beamer and their own work and show it on any place the projector can reach in a designated space. This creates a clash of art (and other crazy shit). The next event will be hosted at W139, which might not be hard to find if you already visited Rafael Rozendaal’s exhibition I wrote about earlier.
