Merel’s Mind: FOMO in our digital era
A couple of weeks ago I read about FOMO. Fear Of Missing Out, which is inevitable in our digital lives. In the summer of 2014 my life changed a bit. I bought my first smartphone and although you might think that’s a tiny change (I did) – it’s big. (..more)
Merel’s Mind: Extravaganza at De Parade
Yesterday I was at De Parade. For the 24th time a diversity of actors, performances, tents, dancers and musicians come together in the Martin Luther King Park to enjoy the crowd. De Parade breathes extravaganza, circus, magic, humor and fun, and will alleviate your evening immediately. (..more)

Merel’s Mind: 2014, year of the bush!
If I can trust my own research and the internet, there are about 110 wax salons in Amsterdam. I have no idea if that’s a lot, but I think I have bad news for them; if we believe The Guardian, this is the year of the bush. (..more)
Merel’s Mind: De Verleiders
A couple weeks ago I went to De Verleiders, in Carré. The piece was played by the crème de la crème of The Netherlands’ actors guild. They’re pointing to the audience, asking questions, screaming FUCK YOU for at least five minutes, closing deals, wearing sunglasses, going to jail, crying about losing so much money and just don’t know how to tell their wives, all in up-tempo.
