Sugarfactory celebrates ten years and is still going strong
After moving back here in 2005 the Sugarfactory was in fact the first club I entered. It was a Thursday night and Vreemd (with Carlos Valdes) was the place to be. Sugarfactory is a very laid-back club, with real people and real music, and that’s probably the basis of their their ten-year success. (..more)
Get ready for Next Monday’s Hangover’s very own ’boutique’ Festival
It’s not often that you can find me in Amsterdam so late in the summer season (I usually run arms wide open to embrace the sun, sea and cocktails as soon as someone can say “school’s out”), but since it’s a fact, I have compensated my time here by enjoying the splendor of festivals that Amsterdam is famed for, from large festivals with over tens of thousands of people to smaller more intimate festivals. One that’s definitely caught my eye is what they are calling a ’boutique festival’, hosted by none other than the boys at Next Mondays Hangover. (..more)
Magneet Electric, a day reserved for quality electronic music at Magneet Festival
Amsterdam has seen countless memorable festivals over the course of the summer, but Magneet festival is something just that little bit different. That little bit of 'out of the ordinary, out-of-the-box' thinking - could I even go so far as to say r.e.v.o.l.u.t.i.o.n.a.r.y? And although it might signal the end of summer 2013 in Amsterdam, it’s something I’ve really been looking forward too. (..more)
