Revival of the Readers: Jonge Schrijversavond in Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam
Books are boring? I don’t think so. They’re even sexy. At least that is how the initiators describe their Young Writers Night (Jonge Schrijversavond) which already be the fourth edition. In this flashy version of the old school ‘Boekenbal’, Maurice Seleky will interview eight young authors about their debut or passion for the words in general. Sounds pretentious, but this creative nest is interesting for both art adorers and the inexperienced ones, something you will be thrilled to visit. (..more)
Be the ‘O’ at Amsterdam Roest and work on your karma
Think the festival season is definitely over? Guess again. We wrote about the Valhalla indoor festival, and this Saturday ‘Be the O’ event will take place at one of the greatest hangouts in the city: Amsterdam Roest. Don’t let the syllable distract you, behind this shiny autumn special stands the O Foundation; a bunch of young and idealistic (yes, they still exist) people who don’t just want some world peace, but change our ideas about helping each other out by creating a network of young ones with this new awareness and set up small projects in third world countries.
