In the campaign 'My Town My Tracks' thee creatives from different cities around the globe talk about their favourites around town. Tokyo was up first, but this time around Onitsuka Tiger looked towards the low lands and asked three DJs for their story: Olivier Weiter, Miss Melera and Arjuna Schiks. Mixtape Monday: The Atakai Connection by Florinsz Janvier
Florinsz Janvier is the (co-)founder of deep house and techno community SEKOIA. This upcoming talent, originally from Brabant, is slowly but surely making a name for himself in Utrecht and Amsterdam. Partly due to their online blog/community of course, but also independently as a DJ who dares to look beyond trends and hypes and finds his own way. Faux Couture, two individual worlds in one duo. Life has highlights and lows. Something they translate to music, sometimes fun and enjoyable and sometimes deep. Most people know them because of our choice for funky house and disco tracks in their sets. However, they have another side and also love depth and darkness. Huminal (Paul Deetman and Jelle Jansen) are two young up and coming electronic artists. Their style can be described as raw and deep with perfect harmony, flowing through different levels of techno and electronica. Within every production or set their main aim is to take the listener on an adventure through a world of loaded bass, pumping synths and metallic glitching. The sets full time audio engineer Mudde energetically constructs are made up of a wide array of sounds, from heavy house to pumping techno via dark garage, UK bass and a bit of dancehall and bashment. “As a DJ I love to combine different styles that suit the moment of the party,” he says. “I’m always keeping an eye open for new and old styles of music which still have dance floor relevance.” (..more)

For the last few years Mick and Pieter have been playing solo in Amsterdam’s underground house scene. With Mick’s euphoric melodies and and Pieter’s deep, raw and energetic style they both tried to give their audience something original. It was only a matter of time before they found out that their love and preference for music fit perfectly together. The just 19 years young Pierre August is really making his way in the house scene in Amsterdam right now. With gigs for A Day at The Park, Gaasper Pleasure, Park City Live, Deep House Amsterdam and his residency at Klamme Handjes, he is quickly becoming a familiar face in for our town's club community. Because of the already very rich dance scene in Amsterdam Pierre really tried to form his own style of music, which became a mix of classics and the latest bangers.
