The ‘Worst’ day of the year
This weekend might have the worst days of the summer weather-wise, but that is not what I am on about at all. This article and event are about a different kind of 'worst'; the sausage kind. This Sunday at Amsterdam Roest a "Worst & Cider fest" like you have never seen before will take place. Expect a welcome sausage, a sausage making workshop and a sausage barbecue party with music and dancing. And cider to wash it all down. Definitely the 'Worst' day of the year. (..more)
Mixtape Monday: Diggin’ Deeper by Tettero
Jack of all trades Tettero delivers the soundtrack of this years Lowlands hangover (for a lot of us at least). This Melkweg, AIR, Woodstock 69 (Bloemendaal) and Club Stalker (Haarlem) resident thrives in almost every setting but particularly excels in the disco, house and electro genres. I myself am a fan of the Foxes and Wolves nights in the Melkweg which he does with Tom Trago, Job de Wit and Casper Tielrooij. Enjoy! (..more)

Ordinary People Looking Extraordinary at Shoeless
If summer/festival street style fashion inspiration is what you are looking for, check out these Shoeless photos, selected by us, taken by De Fotomeisjes. The weather was decent and the music was good, so most people had a smile on their face while showing off their attire. Expect a lot of creativity in all sorts of garments in these photos, except in shoes, 'cause Shoeless has a very strict (and self-explanatory) dress code: no shoes allowed. (..more)
Ordinary People Looking Extraordinary at Trouw op Zondag Zomerstop
This weekend was the last summer weekend of 2011 for Trouw, as Amsterdam's most underground club is closing for a month in order to improve the restaurant and other facilities. Is one month closed enough time away to hold an emotional (temporary) closing party with all resident DJs? If you look at the pictures below, the answer is obviously yes, or at least it is if you have such dedicated fans as Trouw does. De Fotomeisjes took the pictures, we selected twelve fashionable snapshots. (..more)
Mixtape Monday: nogmeerklappers by KlapSandwich
KlapSandwich was the result of Bo Havermans and Martijn de Vries' shared love for house and techno, and has been making name and fame in Amsterdam since 2008. With Studio80, Sugar Factory, Woodstock69, ClubUp and Kring on their resume, they have lifted many a foot from the dance floor. Their sound is the result of a search for the perfect balance between melody, rhythm, dark synths and joyous vocals. Curious? Future gigs are at Stekkerfest & ZomerPop, amongst others! (..more)
