Mixtape Monday: Depth by TahKo

Jan 20, 2014 |  by  |  Music

Tahko is eager and it shows. After a brief adventure as a singer in a metal band, he hit the club circuit and from the experiences in nightlife his interest in dance music, and techno and deephouse in particular, grew. After a good friend gave him his first set of techno records and a subsequent party with Ricardo Villalobos, Tahko fell in love and got enslaved by dance music. Every time he performs his main objective is to entertain. That is the key factor in his shows, he is a slave of his crowd - they are in charge of the night. (..more)

Anyone familiar with underground 'DJ culture' will know that it's a branch of the music industry that attaches a lot of value to authenticity and the romanticism of old-school craftsmanship. Playing with vinyl is praised for the skill and ear required to mix and appreciate it right, while beat matching with sync buttons and laptops is loathed for the lack of finesse involved in getting it right. Mixtape Monday: GEEN GEZEIK, GEWOON DANSEN by HET GODVERDOMME DJ-TEAM

Dec 2, 2013 |  by  |  Music

The guys from HET GODVERDOMME DJ-TEAM are originally from the sandy outlaws of Jerusalem. These early environmental influences have brought the guys to where they are today: establishing the traveling ‘CLUB GODVERDOMME‘ as a church for the talented independent producers that Amsterdam brings forth nowadays. Mooning to the white-bread, chicken tonight, over digitalized, easy digesting dance scene, their motto is: ‘No Bullshit, just Dance’. (..more)
