Mixtape Monday: Drukpers by Job Jobse
This week we have a mixtape by Job Jobse, the 22 year old Trouw resident and Drukpers host from Amsterdam. This young DJ has been making a name for himself for a while now, as a programmer who likes to bring deep and melodious artists to his own nights and as a versatile disco and deep house DJ who knows how to create a party without ever losing his dreamy touch. This podcast is a good example of what you can expect during a Drukpers night. It features some trancey stuff next to some party stuff, just the way Job likes it. (..more)
Gold Panda, Kakkmaddafakka, Joy Orbison and more progressive music at Off Centre
If I had to describe Off Centre festival in a few simple words I would choose ‘forward thinking’. Programmers who have the guts and the taste to be able to explore uncharted genre territories and break some boundaries always get my respect, and Off Centre has done this for the third year in a row now. Melody and genre cross-overs are everywhere once again and all the room the Melkweg has to offer will be in use. Gold Panda, Kakkmaddafakka and Joy Orbison are the main names to see for me, write those down! See you there Amsterdam! (..more)
Mixtape Monday: Late Night Voyage by Olff
Staying within one genre or style is not something that works for Olff. There are some basics, like house and techno from Chicago and Detroit, but Olff’s interests go a lot further. Driven by a heavy bass addiction, an unconditional love for analogue synths and a craving for dusty drums, Olff discovers more and more old and new gems by the day. Together with buddies Simon Weiss, Berend Krich and Jeroen Kok he will bring them to Paradiso on Friday. So, if you dig this podcast, go check ehm out! (..more)
Mixtape Monday: Amsterdam Bass by Brutuzz
We have been trying really, really hard. But we just cannot categorize Brutuzz in one box. That why we use our self-developed housing theory. If Brutuzz was a house, the foundation would be dubstep, the walls would be made of solid, raw electro and the roof would be coated with a touch of hip hop. The decorations? Everything that breaks and funks, a fridge full of cold beers and stunning women that are dancing on the table in the living room. (..more)

As fast as the speed of light they were suddenly there: seven girls with a great taste in music and an even better party mood. Their presence didn’t come unnoticed; in a bit over a year they’ve already played at Fashion Week in Zurich and Amsterdam, won a golden gnome for best DJ-team, hosted their own parties and shared their spacelove with the audiences every weekend. There’s so much more in the universe waiting for them, SPACEGIRLS. (..more)

Mixtape Monday: U can play what U want 2 by Bob Nagel
This week we have a romantic in the house; Bob Nagel describes himself as being inspired most by “a birdsong in spring, a walk around downtown Amsterdam, the sounds of spaceships whooshing by and of course, long strolls along the beach and candle light diners.” This young man has already notched up most of Amsterdam’s important clubs for his résumé, including Trouw, Melkweg, Paradiso and Studio 80. You might also know him from the Subway events at Queen’s Day wich he organizes with three other DJs. (..more)
