About the author
Being driven by music from a young age made me realize how lucky I am to be situated in Amsterdam and its ever growing scene of artists, events and, of course, music enthusiasts. With a focus on the feel of House, Techno and all in between, sharing my love for music in any way possible acts as a fine expressive outlet.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to make it worth your damn hangover.

Friday: De Fabriek invites De Lichting @ Sugar Factory

Taking hold of De Fabriek’s next edition will be a very special collective consisting of seven figures in total. Through individual experience with DJ’ing and creating music the group of friends can be seen as a combination of seven unique strengths with clear musical visions and identities. Together as ‘De Lichting’ they give each other the opportunity to express themselves in a coherent affair, transfering a distinct but varying sound of house, techno and all in between. The night will have an extra celebratory vibe for the guys as they’ve just released their second longplayer ‘Twee’, which is as diverse as it is beautiful.

Saturday: DJ Sports, Central, Working Titles and more @ Claire

Claire is hosting a more than solid lineup this Saturday with Danish brothers Central and DJ Sports at the helm of the night together with Working Titles. Foremostly, the brothers are known for their affiliation with the Regelbau imprint and their extremely high standard of music. Having both released numerous pieces of crafty music through exquisite labels like Help Recordings, Dekmantel and Brystet, the two’ve put a peculiar stamp on contemporary electronics and introduced many to their ideal mix of warmth and groove. Accompanying them in the first room is Working Titles, a live improvisational performance by two members of the aforementioned ‘De Lichting’ ensemble. Claire nicely adds to their experience with different settings and will surely result in a surprising yet rhythmic exercise.
