About the author
Being driven by music from a young age made me realize how lucky I am to be situated in Amsterdam and its ever growing scene of artists, events and, of course, music enthusiasts. With a focus on the feel of House, Techno and all in between, sharing my love for music in any way possible acts as a fine expressive outlet.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to make it worth your damn hangover.

Friday: DJ Assault & Mad Miran @ Paradiso

Friday will offer one of those special occurences where one of the city’s historical music temples can be entered to stay late. As a frontrunner of ghetto-tech, DJ Assault brings in his trademark sound of sleek beats and filthy vocals to leave some unique impressions for sure. Have a listen to some of his classic cuts to know what’s coming for you. Apart from the Detroit figure, Paradiso is also welcoming Porscha and Clone Records affiliated mad miran. Miran’s competence to select and surprise has brought her to loads of new venues and projects recently and Paradiso can certainly be seen as a new milestone.

Saturday: Volvox & Jasmin @ Noorderling

Noorderling’s Saturday night is offering not one but two rising femme fatales. Resident DJ Jasmín invited Volvox as her guest for a night of vivid techno blazing through the ships hull. With nights like DJ Stingray’s impressive appearance at ADE, the reconstructed ship definitely proved to be a perfect place to get weird with some of the spectrum’s more intense music so the combination of these two and a floating dance floor might just be the next best thing happening over there.

Sunday: Donato Dozzy & Paquita Gordon @ De School

After having to cancel a series of prestigious gigs like Dekmantel Festival and Selectors Croatia, the Dam’s crowd can finally be reunited with the Italian legend at one of De School’s fine Sunday sessions. The cult figure has been known to suck in crowds for decades and hasn’t lost a single touch to his broad vision of dizzying electronics. Give the man some time and you might just leave De School’s upper room with a new favourite DJ, if he wasn’t already. Fellow Italian Paquita Gordon accompanies Dozzy by setting the vibe till he takes over right into Monday morning.
