About the author
Being driven by music from a young age made me realize how lucky I am to be situated in Amsterdam and its ever growing scene of artists, events and, of course, music enthusiasts. With a focus on the feel of House, Techno and all in between, sharing my love for music in any way possible acts as a fine expressive outlet.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to make it worth your damn hangover.

Friday: JACK Opening Weekend with Daniel Bell, Roger Gerressen and NOOSE

This weekend will see the new clubbing space JACK open its doors in the southeastern part of town. Clearly instigating a focus on the diverse, creative and forward thinking facets of the clubbing scene by dynamically programming musical styles and artforms, JACK might just be the next valuable addition to the number of proper nightlife spaces offered by Amsterdam. Regardless of the still unknown inside outs of JACK, Friday night’s bookings already give a sharp sense of what to expect music wise as the iconic Daniel Bell, the Dutch Yoyaku affiliate Roger Gerressen and Amsterdam-based Noose will inaugurate the club’s soundsystem. Expect JACK’s premier night to deliver you a soundtrack of dubby house, groovy minimal and all in between.

Saturday: Peak Mystique’s 1 Year Anniversary with The Reflex, William Djoko and more

Full house at Claire’s this Saturday as house and disco concept Peak Mystique will celebrate its first year of existence. Both rooms will accommodate a night full of swinging tunes provided by a crew headlined by none other than the king of disco edits The Reflex and local hero William Djoko. Additionally, the rooms will be controlled by music aficionados only as Pierre August, Mo Wrights, Guy Gravier and more take on the decks. Next to these appearances and their steady stream of joyous rhythms, Peak Mystique also prepared a series of unpredictable events spread over the peak of the night. Just another reason to come and have a good look.
