About the author
Being driven by music from a young age made me realize how lucky I am to be situated in Amsterdam and its ever growing scene of artists, events and, of course, music enthusiasts. With a focus on the feel of House, Techno and all in between, sharing my love for music in any way possible acts as a fine expressive outlet.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to make it worth your damn hangover.

Friday: The Tribe with Andrey Pushkarev, Roger Gerressen & more @ Shelter

The Tribe’s first gathering at Shelter is taking place this Friday and to follow up on their streak of golden bookings they’ve invited over some of the scene’s masters of subtlety. Russian connoiseur of the deep and dubbed, Andrey Pushkarev, appears first on the bill and will finally play his first gig in the Dam. The Moscow-based explorer of minimalistically designed grooves has been steadily opening minds these past years and will definitely continue this path while closing Shelter. Tribe friend and Yoyaku signed Roger Gerressen will be present as well to display his well known craft of creating soundscapes filled with dub-influenced selections and Ivano Tetelepta is lined up to play one of his characteristic live sets as an addition to this special gathering. Opening duties are handed to Christopher & Nicholas, two of The Tribe’s originators perfectly suited to represent what the organization is all about. Come join.

Saturday: Skee Mask, XDB & Elias Mazian @ De School

Munich’s highly acclaimed DJ/producer Skee Mask is setting foot in De School on Saturday. Next to his successful SCNTST alias Bryan Müller has kept on making waves for the past years in the form of Skee Mask, releasing several brilliant EPs and two albums on the Zenker Bro’s Ilian Tape label while at the same time performing all over the place. Digging into his second album ‘Compro’ that was released just this last May, the young German confirms yet again what enormous creative abilities Skee Mask represents and with what perfection all barriers within the styles of breaks, IDM, jungle and techno can be dissolved into a piece of musical genius. Complementing the night are XDB and Elias Mazian who’re both capable of delivering a versatile and fitting surrounding soundtrack for the night. This’ll be one for the books, guaranteed.
