About the author
Being driven by music from a young age made me realize how lucky I am to be situated in Amsterdam and its ever growing scene of artists, events and, of course, music enthusiasts. With a focus on the feel of House, Techno and all in between, sharing my love for music in any way possible acts as a fine expressive outlet.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to make it worth your damn hangover.

Friday: Yoyaku @ Radion

Parisian record store, studio, distributor, label, booking agency ánd prominent player within the flourishing French scene Yoyaku is taking over Radion this Friday. Following everything Yoyaku for some years now has been nothing but joy and made me gain huge respect for the amount of effort that is felt in all of its output and brand aesthetics. After being invited by The Tribe in Nijmegen before, Friday will only be the label’s second party within our borders. For the occasion Radion will open its mainroom for four of the agency’s gifted artists: Roger Gerressen, Janeret, Varhat and Zendid. Nothing but goodness is to be expected from these four and by combining Gerressen and Janeret’s deep and dubby sound with Varhat and Zendid’s tripped-out house vibe, the night will surely make for one of the most interesting ones this month. Buzzing, to say the least.

Saturday: BRET & Cirkel anniversaries @ BRET

BRET will host both its own 3 year anniversary and Cirkel’s two year anniversary this Saturday. The diverse daytime program fits right in with the fantastic weather we’re having this weekend and consists of live jazz, different craft beer tastings, workshops, a bbq and DJ’s. Inaugurating their second year of existence and taking control of the night plan is Cirkel. Bringing in Sub_Surface, Pablo Diskko, Bertram and Cirkel mainstay Vera Zenith, the organization is providing quality grooves once again.

Sunday: Record Store Day 2018

If you’re planning to head into town on Sunday, this year’s Record Store Day is not to be missed. Every year the initiative results in multiple stores hosting their own events and artists releasing exclusives. It might just be the perfect addition to your weekend.
