About the author
Being driven by music from a young age made me realize how lucky I am to be situated in Amsterdam and its ever growing scene of artists, events and, of course, music enthusiasts. With a focus on the feel of House, Techno and all in between, sharing my love for music in any way possible acts as a fine expressive outlet.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to make it worth your damn hangover.

Friday: Konstrukt with Rrose, Tin Man (Live), Artefakt & SHLTR @ Shelter

Konstrukt has been been paving the way for the more hypnotic and tribal forms of techno for quite some time now and after booking the one and only Donato Dozzy last November, they are back in Shelter with a tight selection of artists. By booking some of the genre’s most respected figures and consistently realizing high quality output from the coherent label, Konstrukt gained some well deserved attention over the years and Friday’s concept definitely confirms their status within the Dam yet again. Next to the exceptional Dutch duos of SHLTR and Artefakt, the illustrous Rrose and the playful yet intense Tin Man will be seen behind the decks. Get into it.

Saturday: Dave Clarke presents Whip It with The Exaltics, ROD, Dexter & W1b0 @ Melkweg

Although Dave Clarke might be better known for his storming style of techno, the pioneer has been a huge fan of electro since the early ’80s. The ‘Baron of Techno’ also never hid this appreciation for the impactful genre. Having integrated loads of electro material in his esteemed World Service mix series and Whitenoise Radio show throughout the years, setting up an event in a time where electro is coming back in a massive way can be seen as a natural decision for Clarke. As a result, he joined forces with Melkweg back in 2016 and invited strong acts only to play alongside himself. Saturday will bring light to the fourth edition of Whip It so have a look and have a dance.
