About the author
Being driven by music from a young age made me realize how lucky I am to be situated in Amsterdam and its ever growing scene of artists, events and, of course, music enthusiasts. With a focus on the feel of House, Techno and all in between, sharing my love for music in any way possible acts as a fine expressive outlet.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to make it worth your damn hangover.

Friday: Woodstock Opening @ Woodstock’69

As of this week, spring is a fact. Venues will reopen their outside areas and the festival season lies ahead of us. Kickstarting this movement might be Woodstock’69, the beach club located near Bloemendaal aan Zee that’s hosting it’s 25th season opening this Saturday. Even though lots of great events are hosted throughout the season, the opening party is always something very special. Full of anticipation, people come from all around to inaugurate the brighter times. Musically, one can expect heated housey sounds coming from the Woodstock resident DJs. In combination with the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere this’ll add up perfectly as always.

Saturday: Margaret Dygas, Spokenn & Frank Haag @ Shelter

VBX returns with class this Saturday. Next to the usual quality support from its residents, VBX invited Margaret Dygas to take reign over Shelter’s basement. After having booked the likes of Praslesh, Zip and Villalobos within half a year, Dygas seems a perfect addition to this insane streak of authorities playing for VBX. The Panorama Bar resident can be seen as one of the most recognized artists within the already mythical Perlon label roster, while at the same time being extremely versatile by playing everything minimalist, classy and groovy within house and techno. Chances are high Saturday’s edition of VBX will be one for the books yet again!
