About the author
Being driven by music from a young age made me realize how lucky I am to be situated in Amsterdam and its ever growing scene of artists, events and, of course, music enthusiasts. With a focus on the feel of House, Techno and all in between, sharing my love for music in any way possible acts as a fine expressive outlet.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to make it worth your damn hangover.

Friday: Anthony Linell, Pär Grindvik & Kaap @ Sugarfactory

Northern Electronics’ Anthony Linell AKA Abdulla Rashim and Stockholm LTD’s Pär Grindvik are booked this Friday to play you some of Scandinavia’s most profound techno. Both hailing from Sweden, but each with a style of its own, so the night will definitely bring a proper hypnotic and driving vibe. In special, it’s Linell’s artsy and intelligent style being presented mostly through his label that has left a mark on the scene since recently. The label has defined itself as an outlet for Anthony and his affiliates to push an extraordinary sound of ever-evolving pieces of music. A character that comes forth in every set Linell delivers. The opening slot has been rightfully appointed to the local Kaap.

Saturday: The Tribe with Anthea, Christoffer & Nicholas @ BRET

BRET’s intimate space has already proven itself quite some times in being a perfect surrounding for the more minimalistically designed house sound. As of Saturday, The Tribe will be in control of this special place for the first time, continuing this trend. Having invited Andrey Pushkarev, Janeret and Roger Gerressen over before, The Tribe’s aim proves to be the pursuing of an extremely groovy and often dubby sound within house and techno. This weekend, with London raised Anthea playing, seems to be coming from no different approach. She and residents Christoffer & Nicholas will be playing extended sets until the sun has risen far from the horizon. Be there.
