I'm Marlies from Schatzoekers Amsterdam - always looking for new adventures and (hidden) treasures while hopping through Amsterdam like it’s my own personal playground! I like to be surprised by experiences and things that are innovative and original.

Treasure Hunt is a collaboration between Overdose.am and Schatzoekers Amsterdam. We’ll tell you all about an event or hotspot you absolutely can not miss this month! More Treasure Hunt here.

Cinedans is the world’s largest festival of international dance film. Its 15th edition, dubbed Dance on Screen, will take place next week. The largest and most diverse dance film festival in the world is of course in EYE, the movie museum of Amsterdam. Great for visitors and easy for us locals, which means there are no excuses for us not to go.

Cinedans presents the best international dance films, documentaries and interactive installations. In addition to an extensive film program, with over 90 international dance films and documentaries, installations, lectures, debates and workshops are also part of Cinedans.

Highlights

This year’s highlights include: documentaries about the Dutch/Hungarian choreographer Krisztina de Châtel and Benjamin Millepied, who is best known for his choreography and dance performance in Black Swan (Darren Aronofsky, 2010). Cinedans also presents premieres by the contemporary artist Jirí Kylián and the artistic director and choreographer Andrea Boll, as well as an interactive dance film installation by Noud Heerkens & Loic Perela. All films are shown in their original language with subtitles.
