About the author
Being driven by music from a young age made me realize how lucky I am to be situated in Amsterdam and its ever growing scene of artists, events and, of course, music enthusiasts. With a focus on the feel of House, Techno and all in between, sharing my love for music in any way possible acts as a perfect expressive outlet.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to make it worth your damn hangover.

Friday: Ancient Methods, mad miran & Mercal @ Radion

For a night packed of fierce sounds, Radion is your place to be this Friday. Berlin highness Ancient Methods will take the lead with his unique style of selecting and mixing, by which he always creates a peculiar tension between industrial, EBM and techno. Apart from his sets, it is his own exceptional and ever-expanding discography that gains well deserved attention. Highly recommended to check out! Furthermore, mad miran and Mercal will show what they’re all about. With both artists on the rise and bursting of individual taste, together they’ll balance out the palette of music to be heard on this occasion. Only good things coming from both of them!

Saturday: DJ Bone Presents Juan Atkins @ Shelter

Juan Atkins, the internationally accredited originator of the genre we know as techno today, enters Shelter this weekend. The legendary Detroit-born visionary is invited by Shelter resident and fellow townsman DJ Bone to show what the motor city’s musical heritage is all about. It’s hard to imagine how electronic music would have shaped up without these musical luminaries, which should be reason enough to make your way there and experience the inevitable spirit these guys carry with them.

Sharing is caring!
