About the author
Being driven by music from a young age made me realize how lucky I am to be situated in Amsterdam and its ever growing scene of artists, events and, of course, music enthusiasts. With a focus on the feel of House, Techno and all in between, sharing my love for music in any way possible acts as a fine expressive outlet.

New name, same concept. Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to make it worth your damn hangover.

Friday: Chez Damier & more @ Claire

This Friday, one of the most influential Chicago house figures ever will set foot in Claire. Having released lots of goods through seminal labels like KMS, Balance and Prescription, Damier created a blueprint for quality deep house as we know it today. Noteworthy is last year’s amazing Prescription vinyl boxed set release, distributed by Amsterdam’s Rush Hour, where Damier is featured multiple times of course. Sharing the main room with him are Mairo Nawaz and the duo Kamma & Masalo. Reigning from the Dam, they’ll contribute even more soulful house to the night. Expect grooves till late.

Saturday: Ryan Elliot @ Sugarfactory

When looking into Sugarfactory’s recent event history it’s undeniable that the club puts decent effort into its programming. After a French visit from UVB and Anetha last saturday, this week brings a headline slot for Panorama Bar resident Ryan Elliot. Together with selector Daan Donk, they’ll kick off the concept of Motion. Spread out over two parts, Motion will keep going till Sunday 1pm.

Fjaak @ De Marktkantine

Also very much worth attending is Fjaak’s live session at De Marktkantine on Saturday. The self-appointed “Techno boyband” continues to make big steps and released their booming debut album on Modeselektor’s Monkeytown Records last year as well as a Boiler Room, live from Bassiani, Georgia. Enjoy.
