About the author
I’ve been a music hoarder all my life and it was I who coined the phrase: ‘Every genre has something to offer’ (patent pending). My main infatuations are House, Disco, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and every subgenre in between. As long as the tunes spark up a euphoric feeling. Writing about Music expresses my passion for the art.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’.

Friday: Hidden Gems w/ Boo Williams, Tim Zwerver & Thomas Bongers @ Sugarfactory

Hidden Gems celebrates its one year anniversary and invites you for a housy soiree at the Sugarfactory. None other than Boo Williams is guest of honor and serves the Windy City sound. Boo is the outcome of the second wave of Chicago House producer-DJ’s, having learned from the greats like Larry Heard and Marshall Jefferson. Next to him, Amsterdam’s househead Tim Zwerver will bring his black wax to the turntables and lastly, Thomas Bongers will top the night off.

Saturday: Levon Vincent, Peggy Gou, Carlos Valdes & more @ Claire

An edgier side of House arises at Claire on Saturday, with Levon Vincent as main man and flagbearer of the sound. Though booth date for the night Peggy Gou also knows how to play the crowd with darker vibes, acid-infused house tunes and groovy techno. Speaking of the latter, Carlos Valdes cut his teeth into techno a long time ago and provides it to you as well on Friday.
