About the author
I’ve been a music hoarder all my life and it was I who coined the phrase: ‘Every genre has something to offer’ (patent pending). My main infatuations are House, Disco, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and every subgenre in between. As long as the tunes spark up a euphoric feeling. Writing about Music expresses my passion for the art.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’.

Saturday: Lobster Theremin @ Shelter

The infamous imprint of Jimmy Asquith aka Lobster Theremin is being invited for a night down at Shelter. The label has a great track record of steady releases since they started in 2013. Centered around dusty house from previous eras redone with a contemporary feel, Asquith will put their catalogue to display, alongside label mates Route 8 and nthng. To top the night off, Dorisburg (one half of Genius Of Time) will be laying down records too.

Saturday: Lone, DJ Seinfeld & more @ Claire

Enter the lo-fi realm at Claire! Contemporary legend Lone is known for is variety of track selections and sets. Alongside lo-fi flag bearer DJ Seinfeld, the two will lay down records from the fast emerged genre. It’s not that often a lo-fi themed club event is here in the Dam, so make sure you check it out this Saturday, as the genre is pretty unique with it’s own aesthetic. It can be rough on the edges, with distorted drums. But it levels out with the spacey delayed synth riffs. Check out the mix by DJ Seinfeld below.
