About the author
Jerry is the name, online is my game. I'm a digital enthusiast, ranging from old skool gaming and Space Invaders to iPads and social media. The integration of digital elements in everyday life and art have my particular interest, and besides that I'm part time rockaholic.

In a few months time the historical mansion De Zonnewijser will be packed with large art installations and huge design objects. Brought to you by a blend of established artists and designers, as well as upcoming talents.

For the second time BIG ART will take over a unique building in the city center. This time around it’ll take place in a monumental mansion on the Herengracht, dating back to 1615. The building is located within walking distance of the Central Station and is property of real estate developer Millten. The mansion will soon be renovated but not before dozens of artists and designers fill the place for the pop-up art fair BIG ART.

BIG ART - JP Bruyniks - Witteveen Visual Art

During an XL weekend, starting on Thursday October 12, De Zonnewijser is occupied by XL objects: sculptures, paintings, drawings, photographs and installations. Participating galleries include Ron Mandos, Maurits van de Laar, Slewe Gallery, Roger Katwijk, Galerie Helder, Galerie Bart and Witteveen.

BIG ART is an initiative of Anne van der Zwaag, curator, publicist and director of design fair OBJECT Rotterdam. Creator of large interdisciplinary exhibitions such as BAL! (Paleis Soestdijk), WIT (Nederlands Fotomuseum) and PASTOE (Kunsthal).

Every day you can meet & greet artists and designers, while tasting a fine Affligem beer. With a BIG ART entrance ticket you can also visit the design presentation at design label Lensvelt located on the Herengracht 178, just a few doors away!
