About the author
I’ve been a music hoarder all my life and it was I who coined the phrase: ‘Every genre has something to offer’ (patent pending). My main infatuations are House, Disco, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and every subgenre in between. As long as the tunes spark up a euphoric feeling. Writing about Music expresses my passion for the art.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’.

Friday: heisa. @ De Hollandsche Manege

Heisa. descends in yet another cool unheard of location in the Dam: a riding school next to the Vondelpark. Your Friday afternoon starts early here, as you’re also able to have a quick bite right before you dance your ass off to the tunes played by Iggy P, Yòp and Melon.

Saturday: De Omroep @ Claire

De Omroep (‘The Broadcast’) is coming to you live from Claire this Saturday. The airwaves of the night will be brought to you by Orpheu the Wizard, David Vunk & Loud-E, 3 DJs who’re all well familiar with broadcasting beats on the radio. They’ll take you deep and wide across the frequency range, transmitting the good type of interference to your ears.

Sunday: Dekmantel Soundsystem @ Thuishaven

Enjoy your free Sunday at Thuishaven, as opposed to the frontmen of Dekmantel, who’re working at the same place playing (you) a whopping 10 hour set. With that much time to work, you can get a lot done. You can play records from one genre inside out and still have time to play some gems from another. It’s hard to pin these guys down, but you’ll probably get something like that: a bit of everything.
