About the author
Half-tourist and half-journalist, I am a full-time hot chocolate drinker who never leaves her camera. Always on the lookout, from classical music to rap, to the arts or good spots to visit, I could also feed myself with history and culture of all kinds.

Nachtschade sounds like the sleazy indie rock you were listening to at college. It’s reminiscent of the Golden Age of rock bands. They already released two eponymous EPs and one single from Maskerade, their upcoming album. If you like rock music, you’ll be delighted to discover it at their release party at Paradiso on April 1.

It’s a wonderful achievement, that freedom to be able to say what you want, with the microphone in hand.

Guy Pek, Maarten Stok, Dan Van Del Breken and Reid Steenhuis are the members. With psychedelic rock’&’blues tones and good rhythms, this orchestra creates a catchy sound you’d like to move on. Nachschade’s talent is not just about poetry or catchy music, but also their theatrical presence. Their stage performance will remind you of David Bowie or dEUS!

Nachtschade’s making a name

During their shows, they prove their engagement and prone the freedom of speech: “It’s a wonderful achievement, that freedom to be able to say what you want, with the microphone in hand,” That way he expressed that people should vote because it’s their way to be heard. Nachtshade’s an engaged group, which made the ink flow last year because of one prohibited poem for the Maagdenhuis occupation, the Executive Board feared reputational damage.

Nachtschade has just finished one year working in the studio on Maskerade, and The Fool appeared in New Music Friday’s Spotify playlist. The group needs to have a good time now, and share enjoying pieces with its public. That’s why they’d like to invite you at their release album party at Paradiso on Saturday! And for those who’re not there, the album will be available soon after. This unpredictable but reliable orchestra will seduce rock lovers for sure!
