About the author
I’ve been a music hoarder all my life and it was I who coined the phrase: ‘Every genre has something to offer’ (patent pending). My main infatuations are House, Disco, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and every subgenre in between. As long as the tunes spark up a euphoric feeling. Writing about Music expresses my passion for the art.

I’d like to wish y’all a very happy 2017, filled with a lot of dances and good music. Make the hangovers of this year as much worth it as the last.

Saturday: Jackmaster / Peggy Gou @ De School

De School kicks off the first Saturday of the year with a bit more heat than usual. Widely-ranged gem discoverer Jackmaster is no stranger to the basement, where his knowledge of diverse styles and craftily blending them provides for a unique vibe that matches the location. Fashionista-turned-DJ Peggy Gou will accompany him behind the decks. 2016 has been the year Gou started to make a name for herself in the underground dance scene, combining techno sounds from Detroit and Berlin.

Saturday: NooFilter @ Canvas

NooFilter brings out Freerange Records‘ head honcho Jimpster for their New Year’s reception at Canvas. Unique in his kind, Jimpster has been developing the deep house sound and giving the genre a contemporary twist, by providing other artists a platform with his labels. Besides him will stand the permanently grin-faced Melon. Grounded in and started from the Amsterdam club scene, Melon knows his way with ‘his’ crowd. To get a feel of what the night might bring you, make sure you check out the recently released all-night set below of both Melon and Jimpster at Trouw a couple of years back.
