About the author
I’ve been a music hoarder all my life and it was I who coined the phrase: ‘Every genre has something to offer’ (patent pending). My main infatuations are House, Disco, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and every subgenre in between. As long as the tunes spark up a euphoric feeling. Writing about Music expresses my passion for the art.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Thursday: Mood II Swing @ Disco Dolly

Legendary artist alert! Tomorrow Mood II Swing, one of my personal favorites, will be housing things up at the Dolly. The producers hail from the golden days of house music, steadily delivering classic cuts. Recently the duo have been returning on the radar (in the Dam), and this Thursday night treat is a perfect example. If you want to learn a bit more on Mood II Swing, I recommend this good read on them.

Friday: Heist Recordings @ Claire

Heist Recordings is hosting a label night, bringing the lush deep house sounds and raw beats to your ears. Head honchos Detroit Swindle have been causing a sonic ruckus for quite some time now and they’re accompanied by K-Hand to do the same at Claire. K-Hand comes from the city of endless talent when it comes to electronic music, Detroit. The female veteran also has been around since the Paradise Garage days and therefore is well versed in both house and techno. She’s the opposite of Detroit Swindle, but will most surely get along fine with the Dam’s label owners.

Saturday: Full Crate, Midas Hutch & Wantigga @ Disco Dolly

Another celebratory evening at the Disco Dolly, as it’s their third anniversary. The cozy club houses Full Crate, Midas Hutch and Wantigga this Saturday, who’ll be providing the necessary birthday tunes. All three are known for their eclectic music styles, ranging from R&B to hip-hop and back to (modern) funk. A party it’s definitely gonna be, so head down to the Dolly if you’re feeling festive.
