About the author
I’ve been a music hoarder all my life and it was I who coined the phrase: ‘Every genre has something to offer’ (patent pending). My main infatuations are House, Disco, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and every subgenre in between. As long as the tunes spark up a euphoric feeling. Writing about Music expresses my passion for the art.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow down your options by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. While there isn’t a special occasion, sometimes, just sometimes, a weekend is filled with some good parties that make you forget about the weekly woes by pleasuring your ears. This weekend happens to be exactly that.

Friday: MORE Bounce X IDFA @ Canvas

A special collab is happening Friday at Canvas. The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) is taking over the Volkshotel to host their annual festival, granting young documentary makers the opportunity of showcasing their works. They’ve also teamed up with the guys from MORE Bounce, who’re bringing the funk to Canvas. You’ll be bouncing to the groovy tunes while looking at the visuals from music documentaries. Ain’t that quite the experience?

Friday: FS Green & Cinnaman @ Claire

Claire shows off its diversity this Friday by inviting factotums FS Green and Cinnaman behind the decks for an eclectic evening. Both of them will light up the two separate rooms in the club, providing for a benign blend of hip-hop, r&b, house, electric and everything in between.

Saturday: MyHouse presents: A Tale Of Two Cities @ Marktkantine

MyHouse is coming to the Marktkantine and lets DJs from Rotterdam and London tell the story of the cities’ long history of electronic music culture. London is represented by Boddika, Mosca and Papers, while Rotterdam brings Mark Du Mosch, Serge Clone and Frame Six to the wheels. The raw electronic sounds interpreted by both crews will surely make for one hell of an ambiance.
