I’ve been a meat lover for as long as I can remember, and as such it’s needless to say I love myself a good burger. Of course there’s no place on earth where they make ‘em better than the US of A, but I’ll settle for McDonald’s or the snack bar around the corner any time. As long as there’s cheese on it I’m good. Maybe some bacon as well.
Burger paradise
All those years working at McDonald’s sure paid off; I developed an exquisite taste for a good piece of smashed meat with some great toppings. And what better way to test those taste buds than a burger festival? This weekend the Amsterdam Burger Festival offers a large selection of pop-up burger joints, food trucks and open air restaurants. Together they have many different types of burgers for you: beef, lamb, chicken, fish, lobster, BBQ, vegetarian, sushi and halal, to name just a few. And of course veggies and gluten-free are welcome as well.
Expect everything that has anything to do with burgers, and much more: BBQ Masters, hot tubs, a chill area, kids corner and music of all sorts, such as ’80s and ’90s, pop, funk, hip-hop, disco, house. Have a bite and wash away your burger at a beer garden or one of the cocktail bars. Bon appétit!
