About the author
Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday, Saturday: Zwart Goud weekender @ Zwart Goud

Zwart Goud is celebrating it’s first birthday, and what better way to do so than with a weekender (FYI: my birthday was a weekender)? This new record store has become one of my favorites very quickly. I actually avoid going because I know I will spend too much money when I’m there. It’s a dangerous place for a girl with a vinyl addiction like me. From Lobster Theremin to Giegling, they offer the best of the best. Nathan Lake, Sub_Surface, Kalkedon and Flying Monk & Palestina Robotica will play on Friday and Philogresz, Simon Hinter, Selen Parman, Moody Mehran, Robbert Sikking and Pablo Diskko are on the bill on Saturday.

Friday, Saturday: Radion Weekender @ Radion

With Radion’s 24-hour license, boundaries between day and night become blurred. As it should be. Radion’s weekenders have already gained a notorious cult status. And because summer is upon us and spring is waiting at RADION, there will be warmer temperatures outside and hotter nights inside. The line-up is pretty damn good as well: Andy Butler, Honey Dijon, Lupe, Titia, Boris Werner, Elias Mazian, Darling, William Kouam Djoko, Afrobot, Borusiade, Christian S, Hellie Berry, Jan Schulte, Lovefingers, Ohana Hana, Suzanne Kraft, Tako, Tolouse Low Trax (live) and Trippin Jaguar. Say what?!

Friday: I-F, Legowelt and Mike Servito @ De Marktkantine

This is a line-up I just can’t say no to. Seriously. I-F blew my mind at Nachtdigital last summer, Legowelt is a straight up genius and Mike Servito is the king of acid – I listen to this ADE recording and this b2b set with The Black Madonna regularly. Put these three together and there is no chance in hell this night won’t be magical. I know I will be dancing my ass off the entire night. Happy weekend!

Check out Tim Jules’ Cosmodrome, Morph, and DEPOT as well.

Sharing is caring!
