About the author
From London living in Amsterdam, works in music and loves to hear new music of all varieties, having a bop on the weekend, eating great food, attempting to grow plants on my shady balcony, and baking dubious cakes.

Whether you’re in the mood for some sweat, heat and excitement, for taking a soothing dream ride along psychedelic soundscapes, or maybe to wallow in bittersweet self-pity over the love you just lost, there’s always the right band at the right time. I’ll be your pathfinding captain through the desert of dust and guitars, so fill up your flask and follow me.

‘The tour’ is often a privilege bestowed upon musicians alone, but Meta Nights want to put an end to this. Why only one artistic medium, and why is it always just the musician on the bill? This Swedish-born concept organizes tours where artists of all disciplines can collaborate in perfect harmony, and all artists are recognized and applauded, which I think is a fantastic idea!

Open your heart and soul

On Monday, event agency Meta Projects are bringing some artistic talents to The Waterhole: Kirsten & Marie will provide the music, and Line Hvid brings the visuals. The hauntingly beautiful vocals of sisters Kirsten & Marie sparked the imagination of Oh No Ono members Aske and Kristoffer. So much so that these beguiling sisters were the inspiration behind the Aske and Kristoffer’s founding of Danish label Tambourhinocerous, a label well worth checking out for its alternative independence and soulful explorations.

If you’re keen on soft Scandi emotional depth, with a less-is-more approach, these two hit the nail on the head.

In 2012 they released their debut album Newspeak, with full orchestration and found sounds. If you’re keen on soft Scandi emotional depth, with a less-is-more approach, these two hit the nail on the head. Kirsten & Marie will be playing with a full band, including electric guitar, Spanish guitar, bass, three-piece drum set and flute.

The band will be accompanied by visuals created by Line Hvid. Under the theme Kaleidoscope – observations of beautiful forms – Hvid has created a piece that captures the mystique and love Kirsten & Marie inspire. Line finds inspiration in the psychedelic ’60s, and the irony and originality of the ’80s. Line Hvid creates visual compositions, album covers and music videos, whilst studying Creative Communication at the Danish School of Media & Journalism. For the full audiovisual spectacle that aims to open your heart and soul, head to Monday’s show!
