About the author
Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday, Saturday: Into The Woods Weekender @ Radion

Into The Woods is one of those intimate dreamy festivals that sell out in one minute. Everyone there automatically becomes a family member, the crowd, the artists, the crew, everyone. This is your chance to experience the magic. Their weekender in Radion is sold out as well, but they saved some tickets at the door! The program is still a secret, but trust me, the guys from Into The Woods will take care of you.

Saturday: LET Me In with JP Enfant @ Cruquiusgilde

JP Enfant is bringing sex back into techno, and thank God for that. This Saturday he’ll be doing it all night long. I love it when artists have the entire night for themselves. It gives them an opportunity to really take the time to tell a story. And what better place to do so than my favorite venue, the cozy warehouse Cruquisgilde. Get ready to sweat people. I’ll be there from the start and won’t leave before his last record.

Saturday: Horizon @ Canvas

If you guys know me, even just a little bit, you’ll know that I’ve been going to these Horizon parties from the start. I truly discovered so many interesting artists that I wouldn’t have with them. Ivan Smagghe is an example. I didn’t really know his music until he blew me away in Doka a few years ago. I’ve been watching this guy ever since and now he’s back to play in the Volkshotel building, in Canvas this time. Check this dude our people. Lovely Horizon resident Reza Athar will play as well.

Also, check out KERK on Sunday. I’ve been hearing good stuff about this mysterious one.
