About the author
I’ve been a music hoarder all my life and it was I who coined the phrase: ‘Every genre has something to offer’ (patent pending). My main infatuations are House, Disco, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and every subgenre in between. As long as the tunes spark up a euphoric feeling. Writing about Music expresses my passion for the art.

Ever since the vinyl game is resurrected and alive and well more and more vinyl sales in all shapes and sizes keep popping up. From huge ones like Recordplanets’ fair in the RAI a couple of weeks ago, to more intimate sales like the one this Sunday. It’s great to see the revival of vinyl doing so well and attracting a wider audience than ever.

Vinyl revival

Vinyl makes it possible to physically dig through the history of music, which sufficiently sparks up nostalgia. There are a lot of conversations going on about new music not being good anymore. But that’s only true when you don’t really look for good music. There’s more music being made than ever before and more and more new vinyl is being pressed nowadays. So whether it’s a new record or a really old one, you can discover them all at vinyl sales. Nearly all vinyl lovers agree that the feeling of discovering an unheard gem is really satisfactory.

From €2,- gems to €60,- authentic, first release classics; there will be something for everyone.

Whether you’re into ’90s house, ’80s funk or jazz, or even if new wave and punk are more your thing, this Sunday Volkhotel will have it and everything in between at their first ever vinyl market. For the event, dubbed Good Music Vinyl Market, they have recruited some of Amsterdam’s finest record shops with their eyes, but more specifically their ears, on quality music which they’ll make available for you to buy. From €2,- gems to €60,- authentic, first release classics; there will be something for everyone.

And a Good Music Vinyl Market wouldn’t be that if there wasn’t any music pumping through the speakers, right? That’s why there’ll be live DJs spinning some tracks, strictly vinyl of course!

So hang out and listen to some good music played by the Dj’s and kick back with some beers while you’re crate digging for some fine vinyl gems this Sunday afternoon at the Volkshotel!
