About the author
Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover. There are so many parties this weekend (it’s insane) so I’m going to give you more tips than usual and keep it short and simple.

Friday: MIND @ Radion

MIND highlights artists that have such amazing skills, it becomes clear that DJing is a trade. MIND gives you music that challenges your mind and not just your body. This was my favorite party in Radion but sadly after one year, this will be the last one. Curator Reza Athar, master selector, has invited Danny Daze to close MIND off in style.

Friday: Carlos Valdes invites: Lakuti @ OT301

OT301 might be my favorite place in the city. It’s cozy and raw at the same time. LET already organised two epic nights there when JP Enfant invited Luke Hess and Viktor Palmer invited Helena Hauff. This time LET resident Carlos Valdes has invited Lakuti, one of the leading ladies in soulful house music and a Panorama Bar regular. Can’t wait.

Saturday: Oostkaap @ Cruquiusgile

Kaap has been one of my favorite parties from the start. It was the first party where I experienced a vibe compared to Trouw after it closed. Unfortunately, this will also be the last edition. So we have have to party as if there’s no tomorrow and I’m pretty sure things will escalate completely (in a good way). Patrice Bäumel and Reza Athar are performing a b2b bromance set and Tim Hoeben and Bas Dobbelaer are on the bill as well. Oh, and did you know it’ll be the first party in Cruquiusgilde since their 24-hour permit? Just saying.

Saturday: One More Time @ Studio 80

Studio 80 closed its doors this January, which is a big loss for the Amsterdam’s nightlife. Luckily for us, they are opening one more time, to give us a proper final goodbye. With one of their most legendary concepts, 24 Hour Party People, returning for an epic party marathon. How lang will you last? Will you be there to hear Studio 80’s last record? I know I will.

Saturday: XXX @ Closure

SHMLSS’ XXX parties always put a smile on my face. This time they invited Moodymann. This should be enough information for you to decide to check it out. Because: Moodymann. Just listen to this RBMA recording and you’ll know that Closure is the place where you want to bust your moves.

Saturday: NGTDVSN @ De Marktkantine

Last but definitely not least: NGHTDVSN at De Marktkantine. Max Cooper, musical genius, is playing all night long. Which means he has the entire night to take you on an epic journey. To top it all off, PRISMA invited one of my favorite labels Atomnation to the second room. Gidge, Applescal, Olaf Stuut and Polynation will play. Even without Max I recommend you to check this out!
