Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Depth Over Distance @ Closure

To create depth over distance, few ingredients are needed. Sound. Structure. Rhythm. That’s it. Closure invited the perfect artists to bring you exactly that, making a perfect night when blended together. Innervisions’ Marcus Wormgull is headlining, which in itself is a reason to go dance your ass off. If you’re into the Innervisions sound I’m sure you’ve danced to Lenoix at some point. Florinsz Janvier is playing as well. This local rockstar seems to be everywhere and I heard he’s celebrating his birthday that day. Finally, Malbetrieb is on the bill. This Dutchie is influenced by artists such as Sasha, Nuno dos Santos, Aril Brikha, DJ Tennis and Guti, to give you an idea. See you there!

Friday: White Label @ Radion

White Label is the monthly night in Radion where its residents speak out with a selection of their favorite artists and tracks. Think dull disco, hot house and diversity. Emos, demos and slomos from promos. No titles, no artwork, no credits, but edits. White Label is coming home without leaving. This Friday L’Atelier, Moody Mehran, Tommy Theo, Dandyism & Dusty Machines and Mc Ppholl (Earth) are on the bill. Holla!

Saturday: Dekmantel Soundsystem @ De School

De School has finally opened its doors. As it’s the successor of Trouw and you’re into partying you cannot not want to at least check this place out. This Saturday is a fine moment if you ask me. Dekmantel Soundsystem are performing an all-nighter. They proved they are more than capable of playing long sets when they opened and closed for Fatima Yamaha (LOVE HIM) at their own Dekmantel party a few weeks ago. Even though most nights on the program are sold out already you can still stand in line and buy a ticket at the door.
