Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Saturday: Viktor Palmer invites: Helena Hauff @ OT301

LET Resident Viktor Palmer has invited Helena Hauff to perform in OT301 this Saturday. This is truly a golden combination. Viktor Palmer’s obscurity, Helena’s punk techno madness and the raw and cozy vibe of OT301 seem to be made for each other. Miss Hauff blew me away with her b2b set with I-F at Nachtdigital this summer and I can’t wait to see her perform again. Check out her debut album, Discreet Desires, while you’re at it, it’s banging.

Saturday: Horizon @ Canvas

Italian born, Berlin-based Massimiliano Pagliara and local rockstar Reza Athar are doing a special b2b session in Canvas this Saturday, all night long. Talking about putting two of my favorite artists together. Both of these guys are extremely eclectic and can easily switch from cosmic music to a dark house track, and I love that. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us as I’m sure they will amplify each other.

Saturday: Cheetah: 5 YRS Lumberjacks in Hell @ Studio 80

Marcel Vogel’s label Lumberjacks in Hell is turning five years so obviously this calls for a celebration. I love his second compilation and standards were high after the first successful one (I bet you know Hit It n Quit It). Maurice Fulton, Rahaan, Dikkens and Mr. Mendel are invited for the occasion to Cheetah’s home base Studio 80. And of course Marcel himself is playing as well. Time to boogie!

Make sure you check out Once in a Blue Moon if you’re into Fusion vibes, dance at VOLTT in the ITW Warehouse or have some absinthe at The Going in Studio 80.
