Whether it’s Wallace and Gromit, Disney’s Fantasia or Toy Story; we all grew up with animated movies. However, animation is so much more than a ‘childish’ medium, and that’s exactly what the KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival aims to show you. Starting next week at EYE, the festival is back with its eighth edition.

The art of animation

KLIK! is an organization that celebrates the animation genre as a whole. This means you can expect the very best of animated shorts and features from 80 countries, varied with presentations, masterclasses, workshops, and parties. Everyone who’s somebody in the animation world will be present, and once again KLIK! managed to bring some leading industry names, experts and animation lovers over to Amsterdam.

Immerse yourself in absolute animation frenzy and take part in this warm celebration of all that is animation!

With such a packed program it can be hard to decide what to see or do during those six days. That’s why we selected a few highlights for you.

PES – Animation superstar PES will give a showcase about his work. He’s known for Fresh Guacomole, the shortest film ever to receive an Oscar nomination.

Trippy Toons – Crude and edgy humor, a lot of coarse language, violence and NSFW sexiness. That’s what you can expect at the Trippy Toons show.

We Bare Bears – Cartoon Network’s hit series about three bear siblings and their awkward attempts crushed the competition for last year’s KLIK! Young Amsterdam Audience Award. This year will bring some crispy new episodes for you to enjoy!
