About the author
Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Amsterdam Dance Event is my favorite sleepless week of the year. I’ve been going there since I was 15 and will try to go there until the end of time. It is also a week of great dilemmas. 80 venues and over 2000 artists are participating. How the hell do you choose between all those amazing parties? That’s where I come in. Let me tell you where you party people should go to this ADE.

XXX @ Closure

The boys from SHMLSS founded their own label a couple of months ago and have been organizing parties in Closure to match. They’ve invited Prins Thomas, Tuff City Kids (Gerd Janson and Lauer), Ata and Sadar Bahar already to give you and idea. Their first EP got released recently and it’s impossible to not be overwhelmed by happy vibes when you listen to Jack Pattern his music. Enough reason to celebrate and what better moment than the Amsterdam Dance Event? Soul Clap, No Regular Play and Nick Monaco are invited for the occasion. This is a perfect way to start your ADE!

Woodstock @ BRET

Woodstock is leaving the beach (thank God, because that would be cold in October) and bringing the summer heat into BRET during ADE. San Proper is a true legend and will get any party started. Melon is just lovely. Have a listen to this boiler room set he did for Boiler Room in Trouw (still have goosebumps thinking back to that night in De Natte Cel) and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Bossoyo and Radio Galaxy are on the bill as well. Start with a nice dinner and slowly get into the ADE groove this Wednesday at this new location.

Something Happening Somewhere x Correspondant @ Feijoa

Two of my favorites are joining forces for the second time during ADE. Nuno Dos Santos has released some pretty amazing stuff on his label Something Happening Somewhere and his compilation is impressive. Correspondant is just pure class and label boss Jennifer Cardini has blown me away a few times in a row now. Man Power, Chymera, Tsepo, Sigward, Malbetrieb, Kid Culture and SB aka SHOW-B are performing too. Both labels have a strong and independent musical voice, but share an aesthetic and vision that creates an unforgettable love story. And the entrance is free, so I’ll go for a drink for sure.

Hardwell presents: Revealed @ Heineken Music Hall

Just kidding.
