“I couldn’t imagine life without music,” Tom Trago states. “I feel this physical need to make music every day. It’s like my body needs it as much as it needs food, water or sunshine.” This guy is the real deal people. Surely you’ve danced to his tune Use Me Again before, this lovely track has basically become an anthem. We remember his weekender in Trouw where he invited Jamie xx, Young Marco, Aardvarck and Pépé Bradock as if it was yesterday.

Voyage Direct

The man breathes music, that much is obvious. His label Voyage Direct has been a great success and he recently started his own artist agency Voyage Select. His first compilation features tracks from artists such as Awanto 3, Melon, Maxi Mill and William Kouam Djoko. The musical make-up of the compilation reflects Tom’s wish to look towards the future of Dutch dance music, which is Voyage Direct’s First Mission. A tour across Europe, last April, reflects that vision.

ADE, Machinedrum and Midland

Given the fact that Tom Trago is becoming such a key figure in the Dutch and international electronic music scene, it makes sense that he’s present at the Amsterdam Dance Event. This music conference and the biggest club festival of the world is a pretty big deal, and so is mister Trago. With a b2b gig with Cinnaman at STRAF_WERK along side Skream, Route 94 and KiNK among others and his own label night he’s hosting with ZeeZout Tom will be a busy man next week.

Recently, Tom Trago has made a track for Converse Rubber Tracks and it’s pretty damn good. Have a listen here:

During ADE Converse and Indaba have invited Machinedrum and Midland to present new products, exclusive tracks and production techniques. The event starts out with a panel in which the art of sampling will be discussed. Machinedrum and Midland will premiere new tracks that they made with samples from the Converse Rubber Tracks Sample Library and they will give you in insight into the creative process behind the tracks. After this Rubber Tracks and Red Light Radio will host a live performance from Machinedrum. There will be food and drinks as well!
