About the author
Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Zauer Kitchen @ Dok

The last edition of Zauer Kitchen was pretty legendary. For the first time the kitchen moved from the Westergasterras to Dok Amsterdam. And boy, this concept came alive at this city beach. With a bonfire, a good selection of beers and sexy slow hypnotizing Fusion music I had a blast. This time Daniel Zuur, the man behind this all, invited Lövestad, Kraut (Daniel his new project, exciting!), Josh Dupree, Rus and Nick Rosa. See you there!

Friday: Mechanism @ Cruquiusgilde

I shouldn’t have to tell you any more than that Cruquiusgilde is a great way to dance all night and morning. If you haven’t been there you really should go and check it out. This Friday would be a great day to do so. Let me introduce you to Robin Kampschoer. This is such a talented guy and you will hear more about his in the future, trust me on this one. He did an intimate set at Fusion that just blew my mind and he rocked the LET label release party a couple of months ago. He’ll perform in my favorite warehouse this Friday along side Duplex, Stranger, Michel Abstract and the Mechanism Crew.

Saturday: Next Monday’s Hangover @ De Marktkantine

Notice the resemblance between the name of this party guide and the name of this party? Well, that’s because the Next Monday’s Hangover parties that make crowds go wild originated out of this very guide back in the day when Some Chemistry still wrote it. This Saturday the NMH boys will turn De Marktkantine into a steamy late summer night and they’ve invited Massimiliano Pagliara, Pachanga Boys,Culoe De Song, Manamana, Malawi and Some Chem. Time to get sweaty!

Make sure you check out Marcel Fengler who is playing a four hour set in Closure, Get On Down with Honey Soundsystem in Studio 80, Philou Louzolo’a Hotel Tropique in Canvasopde7e and Betoncentrale Festival as well!
