Massive manifestation for peace at Het Manifeest

When you think about a manifest for peace, you might sigh and envision groups of people occupying the city, whilst screaming and getting arrested. Well, this ‘Manifeest’ is nothing like that. This concept gives the term a whole other meaning; it associates peace with happiness and celebration, and isn’t that what the message is all about?

Ever since 2008, peace organisation PAX hosts The Night of Peace during the official Week Of Peace in several cities in the Netherlands. This year, Amsterdam will go all out during this particular night. The program offers music to dance to, poems to think about, speakers to get inspired by, and art to trigger your fascination. All of these peace contributions will take place in some of the most beautiful locations in Amsterdam. Let us give you some highlights of the program!

The program

De Kring will host expositions by Israeli artists, followed by a karaoke program at night. Also, Cirque Excentrique will host an all-nighter in the Compagnietheater. However, our favorite spot for the night and a must-visit location is definitely the Stadsschouwburg. The program, hosted by inspirational platform Krooks, varies from an eye-opening talk by controversial artist TINKEBELL, to a presentation by the inspiring author and founder of YourLab, André Platteel. For all the music lovers out there, this is your chance to catch Arjuna Schiks, Josh Dupree and Olaf Stuut performing a live-set at the Stadsschouwburg, which will be a very unique experience.

Grab a passe-partout for €17,50, which offers visitors unlimited entrance to all participating locations. The only rule that applies here is: full=full. So just make sure you’re where you want to be in time. Excited? Watch the official teaser for Het Manifeest!
