About the author
Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: New Seeds @ Noorderlicht

GIDGE IS PERFORMING IN OUR TOWN! I’m in love with their album Autumn Bells. As a matter of fact, I have it on vinyl and it’s playing as I’m writing this. This isn’t surprising because I basically love everything that Atomnation releases. This is organic dreamy electronic music which makes me float. It’s the first time this Swedish duo is performing in Europe after the release of their album. You don’t want to miss out on this one!

Friday: KIS. @ Studio 80

Hold up! First one to email me at chloe@overdose.am will receive two guest list spots. For this edition of KIS. legend Steve Rachmad has invited Cassy to perform. This is a good moment to check out the remodeled booth in Studio 80 enabling the artists that play there to connect with the audience better. Local rock stars Carlos Valdes and Tim Hoeben will play the second room.

Sunday: Oostkaap @ Cruquiusgilde

Parties on Sunday are always the best. I’m basically still hungover from last Sunday when Kaap collaborated with Horizon and invited Discodromo, Mr. Ties and Job Jobse to Woodstock. Normally Kaap puts my patience to the test by only throwing a party every few weeks. This time I only have to wait one week. This Sunday they return to Cruquiusgilde. In my opinion Kaap works the best in this intimate warehouse so I’m pretty excited. Baikal, Carlos Valdes and David Cornelissen are on the bill this time.

Be sure to check out ZeeZout festival and The Going in Studio 80 as well!
