Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: Light House @ Canvasopde7e

Musical boundaries are being explored and crossed this Friday in Canvasopde7e. Cosmo and Kennedy are up this edition of Light House. Cosmo’s tutored by David Mancuso and François K, so it’s save to say that she must have a good taste in music. I heard she has a bubbly but down-to-earth personality as well. You might know highly skilled DJ and vinyl collector Kennedy from the Warehouse parties he organized at OT301. This one’s going to be good people.

Friday: Mind @ Radion

Patrice Bäumel and Reza Athar are doing a special bromance b2b set to celebrate Gay Pride this Friday. They did a set together once before at the Oranjebloesem after party which was pretty legendary. Ex Trouw resident Patrice Bäumel is extremely talented and has released some amazing stuff at Kompakt. Patrice mentioned that Reza has mastered the art of pleasing crowds without depending on crowd pleasers, which is a rare gift. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Titia is warming up, and she is one to watch, mark my words.

Friday: Sunglasses at Night @ Closure

For their last edition of Sunglasses at Night Closure invited The Black Madonna. This time Pional, Jorn Liefdeshuis and Spaceandtime are up. Pional is amazing, Jorn Liefdeshuis’ Pixel nights at Trouw were amazing and the new project of Aron Friedman and Eric de Man is something you need to check out! Listen to this set and you’ll understand. Add to this the dark but nice vibe of Closure and you’ve got yourself a pretty good Friday night.

I’ll be dancing at Nachtdigital in Germany this weekend. Be sure to check out Cheetah’s first birthday and Get On Down in Studio 80, Redivice in Cruquiusgilde and Katharsis though.
