Born and raised in Amsterdam, lives to dance and dances to live on electronic music, has a small vinyl addiction, appreciates a little sarcasm now and then, thinks musicals are annoying and loves those moments where you lose track of time completely.

Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.

Friday: 10YEARS80 @ Studio 80

Studio 80 with its great sound system and intimate vibe has been an important part of the Amsterdam scene. In fact, this week the club is celebrating its 10th birthday with ten events! They’ve invited David Vunk, Dollkraut, Lovefingers, Malawi, Marcel Vogel and Young Marco this Friday. Expect to be dancing non-stop to Nigerian wedding music, eighties New York disco, deep sea electro, seventies horror movie soundtracks, and probably more, way more.

Saturday: #NOOFILTER @ Canvasopde7e

Kid Sublime once told me that he wants to educate his crowd by playing older tracks, make people dance more and put their hands up in the air. In his opinion a climax can easily be a sexy disco record and it’s a shame that you hardly hear vocal tracks during club nights. This gives you a little idea of what to expect in Canvasopde7e this Saturday where he’ll be playing alongside Mike Risk and Miss Bunty. This is going to be a good one.

Saturday: 10YEARS80 @ Studio 80

With its birthday Studio 80 is going all out and I recommend you to never leave there this weekend. To close their birthday in style they’ve invited Deniro, Eric Cloutier and Milton Bradley. Oh and Dispar Vulgo will do a b2b session with Doka and Gloom and SHLTR will perform together as well. Expect something a little darker than Friday this time. Go celebrate at Studio 80. Enough reason to because if you expect me the club will continue to be lovely for at least another ten years.
