Last weekend showcased some of the most innovative food and drink concepts on offer at the moment. You wouldn’t have guessed it was the first edition by the hoards of people that flocked to Sugar City. It was sprawling, but you could still just about find a space to tuck into the snacks you bought. However, the large numbers did mean that the majority of workshops and tastings sold out within the first hour or so – which was a shame since the cider tasting and Oedipus brewery workshop sounded super interesting, as did the food photography and chocolate workshops. So we created our own tastings from what was on offer. From oysters to lebna, to handmade savoury dumplings and roasted pork baos.
We left the festival with much lighter purses, but with full and happy tummy’s. To celebrate, here’s the Culy Food Festival from my perspective.
