Friday: Zauer Kitchen @ Westergasterras
My favourite kitchen is back! I Wouldn’t be any other place to start my weekend early. This pre party provides you with lovely food (from classy snacks to tower burgers), gin tonic that’s being served in glasses the size of fish bowls and quality music. Hubert Kirchner will perform a special slow DJ set. Alex Preda and the lovely Daniel Zuur, the man behind all of this will be there too. And the best thing? Enough time to go out afterwards. See you there!
Friday: Atomnation @ OT301
I think Atomnation is my favourite label out there at the moment. Every release (music and artwork) takes my breath away, but seriously, every single one. This Friday there’s a label night in one of my favourite clubs. OT301 is intimate and the vibe is really relaxed and open. Applescal, the man behind the label, will perform along side Sau Poler (I’m in love with his track Illusion of Time), Polynation and Guido. I can guarantee you that this is going to be a special night.
Saturday: World Minimal Music Festival @ Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ
Few composers have had such a large and sustained influence on later generations as Terry Riley and on Saturday there will be a tribute in his honour during the World Minimal Music Festival in the amazing Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ. This will give you a chance to see the famous James Holden, Luke Abbott, Koreless and Young Marco in a very special setting. Oh and there’s a pretty cool after party. Anthony Naples, Wesley Matsell, Young Marco and Malawi will play during Somewhere Else.
Saturday: Stimming 4DSound performance @ Elementenstraat
Guys let me just tell you that this is an opportunity you want to take. Music genius Stimming is giving two live performances on the 4D Sound System this Saturday. The 4D Sound System is a special installation which allows sound to move through space from all directions. Sounds can basically fly and float above, underneath, next and through you. This invites you to lose orientation and transcend the actual space you’re in. If this doesn’t sound cool I don’t know what does. There’s only one installation in the world people, just saying.
Seriously, what’s up with this weekend?! So many great parties and I want to go to all of them. If someone knows how to travel in time please let me know. Be sure to check out Framework and Arrivals in intimate warehouse Cruquiusgilde. Georgie’s Nacht der Ode in Ruigoord will provide you with magic, my personal hero Omar S is playing in closure and class will be guaranteed in Canvasopde7e on Saturday. But the madness doesn’t stop here. It’s time for Henk again, there’s a lovely Aus Music special in Studio 80, quality techno can be found during ON in Radion and pioneer Joost van Bellen is playing at Disco Dolly. If we will survive this weekend’s hangover no one knows.
