This Sunday a new festival will take place in the Volkshotel: Secret Rooms will take you into hotel rooms and down to cellars where young creative people are secretly creating magic. Discover theatrical music, musical theatre, dance and cabaret in unexpected locations. Find out what’s happening behind the doors you’d normally never open…

A lot of performances, such as the duo Sex, Drugs & Opera, will take place in a cosy hotel room.

The festival will take place in all of the Volkshotel. Walk up or down a few stairs, open some doors and you might see Rutger Buiter doing Table Manners, a performance without any words, or maybe Cirque Valentin, who’ll play you cute acoustic pop songs in bed. Or you could go to the basement floor and find jazz diva Saskia England whose smoky voice is like music to your ears. Missed a performance? No worries, all shows will be played twice.

Note: since this is the first edition, most performances will be in Dutch. Not all performances will be understandable for non-Dutch speakers. Have a look on the website to see which performances are suitable for both Dutch and English!
