New name, same concept. Too many plans for the weekend? Let me narrow your options down by weekly suggesting the events where you can meet, dance and drink with Amsterdam’s finest crowds. After all, ‘a hangover ain’t worth the pain if the party is lame’. So here’s where you weekend warriors should go to for next Monday’s hangover.
Friday: Freude Am Tanzen Showcase @ Closure
If you didn’t check out Closure yet, now is the time people. Hero Marek Hemmann is playing at a Freude Am Tanzen Showcase this Friday. If you don’t know Marek you probably will recognise his hit Gemini when you hear it. This track just takes me back in time and I hope he’ll play it for us. He will be supported local rock-stars Florinsz Janvier, Some Chemistry and Unisol, who are known to set dance-floors on fire. Can’t wait for the heat.
Saturday: Morgenavond @ Canvasopde7e
Morgenavond nights are always classy and make for a perfect Saturday night if you ask me. This edition has a quality line-up once again. Canson is a dude from Switzerland who doesn’t play in Amsterdam that often so I suggest you take this opportunity. Olaf Stuut just keeps on releasing impressive stuff and Francesco Robustelli is performing as his new alter ego Trippin Jaguar. Rumour has it he started this project after a truffles trip. I’m intrigued.
Saturday: Valrave Presents: KRAFTEK @ WesterUnie
Let me tell you about a German girl named Vonda7. Her romantic techno and hypnotic grooves brought her to almost every hot spot in Berlin. Suicide Circus, Ritter Butzke and KaterBlau are just a few examples of venues where she performed. She recently released a cool EP as well, on Pleasurekraft’s label Kraftek. Check her out at the WesterUnie this Saturday! Oh and Pleasurekraft, ANNA and Ruttenbergs will be there too. Sounds nice doesn’t it?
Check out 33/45 in Studio 80 and Cartel in Closure as well. Oh and it’s International R Kelly Day on Friday. Best day of the year. Hands down.
