There’s a culinary trend that has been gathering momentum in New York and LA, that’s hailed as both incredibly delicious and incredibly nutritious. It’s warming for the soul and a mineral rich food for the body… I’m talking about Broth, good old wholesome-makes-you-happy-from-the-inside-out broth; and it’s launching here in Amsterdam this Sunday at Café Struik!

The most sensual use of recycling shells I’ve heard of yet.

The boys behind Bouillon Bar have teamed up with Amsterdam Oyster Company (AOC) to launch their entrepreneurial successes. Taste buds will be tantalised over cocktails like the Bloody Bacon, created especially for the event. A Bloody Mary enhanced by their very own beef bouillon and lots of bacon: in the tomato sauce and in the garnish! There’s also the Bloody Bisque (a rich langoustine broth) and the Bloody Oyster to celebrate the AOC’s line of oyster shell candles.

As well as crazy cocktails, Bouillon Bar are handing out delicious tasters of their broths to ward off those chills and get you excited about this delicious new trend that I’ve no doubt that we’ll be seeing a lot more of as the season of festivals nears! So keep an eye out and room in your stomach for the Bouillon Bar!
